Loki: Livin’ La Vida
Holy crap, this is when the show was barely a fetus in the womb of Broadway…
Honestly, it was only months after it’s opening on Broadway and only two years after it’s opening in the West End. If I had been watching the Tony’s that night, it would have been one of those “new” shows that I didn’t pay much mind to, while I waited for my favorites and the classics.
Now this show is a favorite and a classic. I am privileged enough to have seen this show performed live at least 6 times, and it never gets old. Each cast is unique, but the show seems to move me no matter who I see perform it. The script is lovely and the score is absolutely beautiful. I get chills every time I hear the overture, even if I’m only listening to the soundtrack.
